Design Challenge

About Design Challenge

The AfriCHI design challenge is a competition that invites participants to propose innovative solutions for human-computer interaction and interaction design in Africa. The challenge is part of the AfriCHI conference, which is a biennial event that aims to promote the development and dissemination of African perspectives on HCI and design. The design challenge for the AfriCHI 2023 conference has not been announced yet, but the previous challenges have focused on topics such as health, education, culture, and social justice. The participants are expected to submit a design brief, a video prototype, and a poster that showcases their ideas and demonstrates their feasibility, relevance, and impact for the African context.

The design challenge is a great opportunity for students, researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts to showcase their creativity and skills, as well as to learn from the feedback and insights of the AfriCHI community. The winners of the challenge are awarded prizes and recognition at the conference.
